Tuesday, April 20th 6pm - 8pm:

Columbia's Crossroads Career Network presents a free event for unemployed, underemployed, and misemployed job seekers showcasing two of South Carolina’s largest employers – SCE&G and Palmetto Health hospital systems.  This event is not a job fair, but will highlight opportunities to learn about careers in South Carolina.

Location:

Thompson Hall at Eastminster Presbyterian Church located at 3200 Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC.  Thompson Hall is behind the playground. 

Seating is limited to the first 240 people who arrive.  Refreshments will be served.

Speakers for this event will include:

• Davis Bourne, Employment Manager at Palmetto Health who will address career opportunities in health care;
• Scott MacFarland, Nuclear Operations Manager of Human Resources for SCE&G who will address career opportunities in the field of nuclear energy;
• Tom Ledbetter, Midlands Technical College who will discuss entrepreneurship, free resources and relevant curriculum for the health care and nuclear energy industries;
• Walker McKay, owner of My Strategic Partner,  will help you create a "30 second commercial" that will open doors you discuss your employment needs.

Pastors and potential volunteers interested in this ministry are welcome!  In addition to our keynote speakers, the evening meeting offers a time of devotion and prayer as well as a time for networking with the volunteers and attendees.

• Volunteer Opportunities - Eastminster Presbyterian Church members or regular attendees who have a passion for helping those unemployed and/or mis-employed are encouraged to serve in this ministry. Volunteer with us now. We are seeking individuals with one or more of the following traits:

  • Personally walked through a career crossroad
  • Possess spiritual gifts of hospitality, encouragement, teaching
  • Passionate about loving the Lord and caring for His people
