I have been unemployed for nearly a year–my sixth job transition in the past ten years. I am smart, hard-working and responsible. Why is this happening to me (again)? My family deserves better. I am dishonoring God and setting a poor example for my son. My wife is ready to leave me. Please pray for us.
PRAYER REQUEST: I have been unemployed from my job since feb 09,was able to upgrade my skills in some areas of weakness. I have been seeking employment with God’s plan first and foremost in my daily lifestyle and also in a working environment. I am single, divorced and self reliant on God’s provision.He has sustained me and yet I believe he has the ultimate job for me to glorify him. I have been trying for two years now to build a business that will sustain us, but we are running out of time and she is scared. I feel as if I have let her down, and it is killing me. I know the Lord has blessed me with the capability to do much in his name, but I have no idea how I am supposed to use these gifts. I fear that I have been forcing the issue with pride, but I cannot push the wheel any further. PRAYER REQUEST: I am a 54 year old unemployed woman and have over $300,000.00 in debt, my 84 year old father is ill and becoming extremely frail and my die soon. I have medical conditions including a seizure disorder and have had no source of income since I left my last place of employment in 2003 to become a caregiver to my mother (now deceased) and then my father now in an assisted living medical facility. I am a real artist, but have been unable to establish myself and most companies now view me as problem because of my age and my existing medical conditions. I WANT to do BETTER! PLEASE pray for my spiritual, medical and financial healing and I PROMISE you will NOT be sorry with the outcome because I will NEVER FORGET IT and will give the rest of my life to GOD. I offer my prayers to all others in need.

PRAISE REPORT: Thank you so much for praying for me on Tuesday. I had an opportunity to take a test in consideration for a job, and my results were great! More importantly, I truly sensed the peace of God as I prepared to go, drove to the site, and spoke with the test facilitator. What a joy to feel my Jesus with me! Thanks again to all of you who prayed for me.
PRAYER REQUEST: God has been faithful and provided opportunities for interviews since my unemployment. However, the process has been slow with no offers. Please pray that I will discern God’s wisdom, that I will be encouraged despite the odds and that something I say in an inerview resonates with the employer.
PRAYER REQUEST: I have Faith and Belief in our Almighty God! It’s been almost two years since I’ve had a permanent job. I continue to eat healthy and exercise on a regular basis…I have no health coverage on myself at this time. I am a mother to a 15 year old son. I love him so much! At night when he is asleep, I feel that I’m able to release the tears. I am divorced from his father and I have gone to him on two seperate occassions in order to seek an increase in child support. It is always an excuse. I have never received an increase from him. Our divorce was final in June 1999.
I need pray for strength. I feel myself beginning to fade. I pray God will send me that awesome opportunity soon!
PRAISE REPORT: Praise God that one of my Explorers, Alex, accepted a SUPER job last week! She is so excited about the work and the manager she will be working with. All came together perfectly in His time. Thank you Jesus!!
PRAYER REQUEST: Please pray for me and my children as they experience an acrimonious long-term divorce, job loss and pending foreclosure. Please pray that I rise from the pitt and see God’s purpose in this storm. I am truely at a crossroad and need God’s will for my future. I pray for guidance and purpose. Please pray that my attitude and aptitude increase in spite of my circumstances.

PRAYER REQUEST: I am 28 years old and have been in the land of my freedom for 10 weeks now. I was released from prison and now face on of the greatest challenges I have ever faced. I know God has the perfect job for me, I have yet to find that job. I just do not know where to look really. So, this is a new approach for me, pray for me!
PRAYER REQUEST: My wife needs a job that will allow her to pick up our children after school. I also have a praise, I landed a long term contract position, so let’s give God the glory and I SO THANK HIM!!!
PRAYER REQUEST: I need you to pray for me as I am having a difficult time financially as well as marital problems. I need to have peace within as well as in my household. I need a break through in finding employment as I am in danger of losing my home. I know that God has a plan for me but at times I get depress and lacks energy. PRAYER REQUEST: I just ask for prayer that my unemployment benefits will be approved. My company terminated my employment and have been giving the Department of Labor the runaround. I just ask for a financial increase and for the ability to pay my bills.
PRAYER REQUEST: My husband just retired and we have relocated. I’m looking for a job in the new location, but it is very discouraging. Please pray that I will be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding regarding a job. Thank you.
PRAISE REPORT: I want to thank everyone involved with Crossroads Career Network and the Maximize Your Career Program. It was fast paced and intense but I learned more about myself and how to highlight my positive attributes in my job search than I could have ever imagined. The volunteer instructors were very open and transparent and most had been through a job transition within the previous five years and spoke from a level of experience. To know they were giving up at least three hours of their time and doing so to help me and others, while not receiving anything in returned truly showed all of us what God’s Love looks like. The knowledge we gained and the love we felt from everyone involved will hopefully inspire each of us to reach out to our network and help him or her when they are going through this difficult time.
PRAYER REQUEST: I was asked to be a candidate for a position in another city with a group I have known for some time. After much prayer and consideration, I have decided to decline the offer as this is the wrong place, wrong time, wrong role for me. I almost disrupted my entire life just to have a job – not the career I want or the place I want to live. I prayed with my family and friends that this is the right decision and that the right fit will happen in the city I live and allow me to pursue the Christian life I want. I cannot put it all here – but I know I cannot work where people rant and yell to get their way, where morals and ethics are words not actions. I am ready to work three part-time jobs rather than take the wrong job…. Please pray with me that I will hear God’s calling, find the right fit and continue down the path He has made for me. Also, praise for my family and friends who are such wonderful sounding boards.

PRAYER REQUEST: Like most everyone else nowadays, I am in real danger of losing my house if I don’t find a MUCH better paying job. I have a part-time job now, but part-time pay with part-time hours will not pay the bills. Today is August 11, 2010. I’m one of many people who come to you with prayers like mine, the main breadwinners for their families who have just lost their job to a restructuring. I am reaching out to you for prayer because I have excellent references, am highly responsible, do excellent work, got 2 recent raises as a complement for what I was doing and now need to find a new role based somewhere near where we live so I can still take care of my responsibilities at home as well as at work.

PRAYER REQUEST: My prayer is for full time employment in a position that will allow me to help others. I am not sure what it will be since all of my experience is in retail banking. Being compassionate to a former co-worker cost me my job after 29 years.
PRAYER REQUEST: I was laid off for 9 months and have just started a 6 month contract .. they are not sure what will happen after the 6 months. It could go longer, it could go “permanent’ or I could be let go.
Prayers for finances and wisdom to decide what to do during this time. It is a nice place to work and I would like to get “hired in” so I could get benefits. . If not I will need immediate employment somewhere else as 6 months is not a lot of time prepare for another layoff and emotionally I am not sure if I can handle going through it again.

In January of 2010, I accepted a position I knew was not ideal for me but had to go back to work. That position lasted five months. I have been unemployed now for the past 18 months and it is taking all of my inner strength to stay positive. I know that God says in his Word to seek Him first and all these things will be given to you. PRAYER REQUEST: We are both unemployed (husband & wife) and living on one person’s unemployment. We currently live in Iowa, and we have had our hearts led to move to the Colorado Springs for a ministry God has shown us in His ways. There is such a large gap between us even working and doing what he has shown us in these visions, and an even larger gap of getting from Iowa to Colorado. We pray for guidance, believe God has steps for us to follow, and we need direction to these steps. We have been unemployed for over 2 months, and are ready to get moving for Him and us.

PRAYER REQUEST: Thank God for opening doors for me to learn about Crossroads and this prayer request line. I am praying for strength during this time of recent unemployement. I am facing many other personal challenges in my life right now and again I ask for strength to endure. I am hoping to turn this test into a testimony. I also want to increase my faith and trust in God and let his will be done. I don’t unsterstand why so many negative things are happening to me. So I am also praying for direction and peace.

PRAISE REPORT: My testimony to God’s grace goes back much further than this recent blessing of His in my family’s life. After losing my job in March 2010, I started searching. I am skilled in outplacement and recruiting so I knew exactly what to do and I did plenty of it. God gave me the peace going through this period of unemployment. He gave me the strength, the focus, the right words to say and consequently, I had tons of activity. This developed into many phone interviews, first interviews; some went to the 2nd and 3rd stage and one to the 4th. In the end, after eight weeks, I had found four companies that looked very promising for me. Then with two weeks, it all fell apart for one reason or another and I had nothing. Some positions were placed on hold and others I didn’t get offers from. It was at that time, my former employer called me and asked if I would do some contract work for a short while, and I glad accepted. What a blessing.
Our Lord’s grace and mercy in my life is overwhelming. The manner in which He has architected events in my life is astonishing. When at the depths of finances in a very serious situation, God stepped in and bailed me out AGAIN. This period of unemployment also gave me the time to look seriously into getting back into my own business, where I had been for 18 years, when that spiraled down and God provided then too. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus “ Philippians 4:19
Through it all, I have learned to trust in Jesus. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your pathway straight” Proverbs 3:5-6 It was at the time of most brokenness and when the world failed me once again, that our Lord intervened in this dire situation and provided. I praise His name.

I have had many transitions this year. My mom had a stroke and is now disabled. I have had a change in my marital situation and now a single mom. I was also laid off from my job for reasons unrelated to performance. This has all been overwhelming at times, but I have a good feeling in my heart. I am asking for prayers so that I can use this temporary set back to find a new rewarding career that helps me use my knowledge, training, and innate abilities to help those with disabilties, as well as, support myself and my daughter comfortably.

PRAYER REQUEST: I ask that God would continue to bless us as we follow through on the final arrangements to move from the East Coast to the West Coast.
My older son and I need to attain housing within the next couple of weeks in the City of Seattle. He will be going on for a DMA in Organ Performance at the University of
Washington and I have applied to complete a Master’s Degree through a distance learning program based in IN where I would travel to 3x/year so the rest of the time we can be there as a moral support for each other. I believe this type of program will allow me to be able to focus on making money to help support the both of us while we continue our education.
We also both need to secure jobs in Seattle so that we can maintain adequate housing for the both of us. We ask that God would open doors for us to be able to attain such security.
Also we ask for God to continue to keep a hedge of safety around us and cover us with the almighty blood of Jesus Christ as we travel over 3,000 miles to our faith home which God will provide for the both of us to live.

PRAYER REQUEST: I was a secretary approximately 30 years of my life. 10 with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc., in Bogota’, Col., SA. Loved every minute!!!! Have loved being office managers in construction offices in the main office & on site. Very Rewarding. The last 16 years I have been caregiving for parents working as a legal secretary & then stopped & caregave the 2 last years of the last parents life. Worked with women coming off drugs, alcohol, etc. (as a vol.); and then I could not find work as a sec., so the Lord said, what have you been doing the last 10 years of your life, I answered, caregiving. So, I began with a local company & worked approx. 2.5 yrs. with them. After both parents died I went on disability and have been struggling with a house payment, seeking work as a caregiver and now trying to rent out a room in the home to help toward expenses, etc. Recently sense the Lord leading, as the Captain of my Ship in some direction. I do not know where & which direction, but would appreciate your prayers for His direction, but in the meantime for work and that my financial needs will be met. Thank you very much. I have finally succumbed to two facts: 1) That I cannot be seduced by Satan to take just any job that will lead me nowhere again and 2) I cannot do this job search by myself. I pray that God would send a special blessing upon any person who reads this request and takes the time to bring it to God.
PRAYER REQUEST: I have been out of work for one year. This transition has been difficult, especially for my wife and family. I ask for your prayers for strength and focus as I continue this journey. I pray that our Lord opens the doors and leads me to where HE wants me to be.

So many hurting people, but God isn’t taken by surprise by our difficulties. The first time we were without a job I learned a lot. PRAYER REQUEST: I stepped out in faith over 6 years ago and moved cross country to change careers and leave the company I’d been with for over 19 years. The first three years were great, but since the fall of 2006 my husband and I have had major medical issues and I’ve struggled with finding a decent job with a solid company.

PRAYER REQUEST: Reading all the needs of others is so depressing. We are all in such a needy time. My sweet husband just lost his job on Monday – the third job he has lost in 10 years. He has been a wonderful provider with excellerating responsibilities and salary for 30 years. Suddently, 10 years ago everything changed. God has blessed us, and we are out of debt. I am a single mom, divorced from divorce lawyer, who backed out of most all obligations, especially FINANCIAl. I have done it on my own for quite sometime now, and although it hasn’t been easy, with God’s help, I was able to make it to this point. Due to the nature of my family’s Real Estate business, I have a SEVERE loss of INCOME and am virtually, depleted of all money. I am asking for a divine Financial Miracle-a Blessing for either a few Commercial deals I am working on to come to fruition OR another means of income while I am waiting for the market to turn around. PRAYER REQUEST: I am 61, have an MBA, have had several different types of jobs and now find myself unemployable. After a bout with cancer, i am left seriously in debt. I am feeling great and would be a real asset to an organization, but hundreds of resumes resulted in 3 interviews and no job offers. I have lost my home, living temporarily in different locations, and am about to lose hope. God has promised a plan for us. I seek his will. I have offered up whatever I have. PRAYER REQUEST: I’ve been laid off since the end of February and my husband is disabled and unable to work. We have no insurance for me and my youngest daughter who is still living at home with us and my husband is on Medicaid. We’re trying to get him on disability too but it’s going to take some time. In addition to applying for jobs, I’ve also started watching a couple of kids to bring in extra $. We’ve recently been hit with two large and unexpected bills and we have a major bill due in January that we have no way of paying. I am feeling so overwhelmed. I don’t know what to do. I believe that God has given them a good doctor and health insurance to cover the cost of the office visits and the medication. It is too much for me and my siblings to constantly have to argue and coax them into taking their medications for high blood pressure. 1. Year 2009 is very bad for us. We get a lot of financial shortage, problems etc. actually we started our family life here in Saudi since 2008. Now this 2009 is going to finish and again a new 2010 is arriving. I hope many pending issues will be clear. First of all please pray for a good upcoming year.
2. We blessed with a baby girl on last January 09. As of now she is completing ten months. But now a days she is getting sick always. Her ears always in pain with itching. Some time she is getting fever also. Myself and my wife are getting a lot of tension while our baby getting sickness. So please pray for our baby that be a healthy baby and give her a good new year.
3. As mention above, on this 2009, we get a lot of financial shortage of our life. Our salary are very low and everybody got good salary increment expect myself and my wife. We are praying and fasting a lot. But nothing show up. Due to financial shortage, we had cancel our vacation of 2009. We are looking not for a high salary increment or bank saving, at least meet our daily requirements even partially. We are the only supporter to our both family members at India. So please pray for a good year to come. Pray for this coming year 2010, that solve our all finical shortages and salary increments.
4. We are planning to go on vacation coming June 2010. Please pray for our vacation, we are planning to baptize our daughter on this vacation. Pray for a good vacation without any accident or problems.

PRAYER REQUEST: I have been unemployed for 3 months. I have a 3 year old and a 7 month old. Was fired after getting great reviews on my work. Like so many others, it came as a shock. I myself have turned into someone I don’t like. I have found myself unable to be the husband and father my family needs me to be.
PRAYER REQUEST: I lost my job 2 weeks ago — fired after winning sales awards — and it is a big shock to me. I am single with 2 adult children still living with me. Please pray that the Lord will provide direction as to what type of new job to apply for and/or whether to pursue my Masters degree.

People discriminate against older and handicapped. Son has ADD and needs a job. Other son has anxiety and needs a bettter job. I cannot take care of everyone…by myself. In Jesus name I pray.
PRAYER REQUEST: I have been very prideful and veered away from God in the last few years. Now that I am on the verge of complete financial ruin, I have asked for his help. I feel very ashamed to ask for his help when I have turned my back on him during the prosperous times.

PRAYER REQUEST: Please, Lord Jesus, help me excel in your glory and grace. I have been unemployed for over 3 years. My family has been helping me financially for a long time, and I have paid the price for the help with my self-respect, and self-esteem. My dad died last summer of stage IV pancreatic cancer, and my mother has been even more demeaning and insulting to me with being unemployed. She often compared me to my peers in the community, making innuendos, snide remarks about being employed. I have been studying for the National Counselor Exam, taking it in December, and I haven’t had much focus to study the material. My aunt moved into a memory care facility last month, and I feel guilty because I just can’t visit her at this time. She can’t engage in a conversation, and is extremely difficult to understand. Jesus, I need help. The holidays are vastly approaching and I can’t take another Christmas at my mom’s house being the scapegoat because I don’t have a job, pretending to be something I’m not, with a certain relative and his wife inviting themselves to dinner, and not even offering to help with my aunt or my mom. Then, I’m expected to answer his questions like we’re on 60 Minutes. Jesus, please give the right job with the right people at the right time. Help me Father God to pass my NCE exam on the first try, December 11.

PRAYER REQUEST: I have been out of work for four months, last month I thought I had a chance to join a small company based out of Salt Lake. I traveled out there to meet the CEO and CTO, spent the day interviewing and presenting to them and they were very enthusiastic about hiring me and made a tentative offer and plan. Unfortunately since then they have gone silent on me and I have to move on.
I have another local opportunity that has come up and I pray that God will bless me with this job instead. We are completely broke, behind on our car payment and rent is due in a few days. My unemployment will not be enough to cover even half the bills, if I can start this new job by the 2nd week of October I will be able to get back on my feet and support the family. Our home is in danger of going to foreclosure if we don’t get caught up on our payments soon. My husband was hospitilized, lost his job, so we fell behind many other bills as well. PRAYER REQUEST: After spending all my life in the corporate world (30 years) I was impacted by an organization restructuring at the end of March. My severance runs out in September. I have been looking, since the first Monday after being impacted and I am hearing very little from my submitted resume (professionally done). The contract work I’ve been submitted for – I never hear back. I don’t know what is going to happen in my life, but I need your prayers. I do have faith, but I get afraid when I look at the facts surrounding all this. I have worked so hard all my life, and I could lose everything. I feel so alone right now even though I KNOW God is near. It kinda makes you feel unloved though. I need prayers that I don’t slip any further into depression, and that God will deliver me and bless me with a job where I can continue to pay the people I owe. I really appreciate whomever prays for me, as I pray for myself and others who need help too. Thank You.

I volunteer with Crossroads at my church and was preparing for the discussion of Step 2- Aptitude. I enrolled in Career-Direct so I could share the experience with the group. The results surprised me, pointing me to a path I was on ten years ago but had abandoned. A fellow Crossroads volunteer encouraged me to check into a local company that used to be a competitor. Intrigued, I used the search tool and discovered an open position that really fit me. Four intense weeks later, I started a great new career!
Be encouraged! God is faithful and present in this ministry!
PRAYER REQUEST: I was downsized along with 300 others in late October. Even after back surgery on Christmas Eve, things were still positive. Please pray that I will not be discouraged as I struggle with depression. Finances are very low, and I am asking for a great new job that I love. 1. Connections to full-time work soon. After 7+ mos. of searching, really getting winded. I teach job search at Crossroads and for VERY part-time work at an outplacement co.
2. Resiliency; ability to “bounce back” when daily routine is fraught with rejects/unreturned phone calls, emails, etc. Extends even to Christians/ contacts at church. Everyone seems too busy to listen, help.
3. Relationship w/ my wife, 2 children. Both are usually strained at this season.
4. My self-esteem. God seems silent & I feel like a loser most days, not His chosen and beloved. His silence seems like punishment.
5. Faith to believe that the things I’m doing, helping with ARE the right things and that God will bless my efforts.

PRAYER REQUEST: Please pray for the good health, protection … that my marriage is blessed and survives all the trials and tribulations that come with it. I also request prayers for my family’s finances. My husband and are debt ridden and pray that we are delivered from debt, financial worries and constraints, our house is saved from repossession, our businesses that we have just started thrive, are successful and attract the right kind of clients and that we secure better paying jobs with better benefits … I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen

In the last 1-1/2 years, I’ve lost my husband of 25+ years to cancer, my son has been sent to prison for at least 5 years, and I’ve lost my job and been out of work for 1 year. I have two wonderful children who need their mom. Please pray that I not be so bitter and angry; for strength; for my son’s well-being; and, for my daughter, who is enduring it all… Bless you from you the bottom of my heart!

PRAYER REQUEST: My uncle is suffering through the final stage of brain and lung cancer with only only weeks to live. My prayer is that God will take him before the pain becomes too much for him to stand. I also wish to pray for his wife, children, and grandchildren that he leaves behind. Last, I pray for myself because I love him like a father and I miss him already. I will spend the day with him on Wednesday ,and I pray that I am strong during this time, and that we enjoy what may possibly be our last day together.
