There is no more decisive moment in your life than when you are at a crossroads. After you pass through, things are never be the same again. In fact, you are never be the same again.
Have you ever wondered where crossroads come from?
- Do you think it’s circumstances?
- An out-of-the-blue opportunity?
- Just another fork in the road of life?
May I propose that every crossroads is created by the shadow of the cross of Christ being laid across your path? Crossroads are designed to stop you in your tracks. To make you consider not just where you are going, but who you are hearing and following. Embrace this wise advice from our Father Who Art in Heaven….
Thus says the Lord, “Stand at the crossroads and look,
ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your soul.”
When you come to crossroads, do not run away. Do not run through. Stand, look to the cross and ask the Lord. Listen for, hear and follow God’s calling every step of the way. God knows the plans He has for you. Plans for a future and a hope. After all…
“We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
Which God prepared beforehand, that you walk in them.”
There is no better time than this Easter weekend – Friday through Sunday – to celebrate the cross of Christ and His raising to life again – that we may receive His life in us. Let us also rejoice and give thanks in His laying the shadow of His cross in our paths, that we may turn to Him, hear Him and follow Him.
